Our Carbon Reduction Plan
At Triple Yellow, we understand that we have a responsibility to protect and respect the environment, even as a small business. We are committed to Net Zero by 2050. But to do this we needed to know where we were starting from, with a Carbon Reduction Plan.
Our thanks to BCP Council for providing support through Climate Essentials. This online platform helps small businesses learn about Net Zero, calculate their baseline Carbon Footprint, and create a Carbon Reduction plan. We have been lucky enough to get one year’s access to it.
The webinars have been very informative, and we have pulled together our data very easily. As a result, we are able to show our current Carbon Footprint, based on 2024 figures for energy use, travel and operational use.
Our Carbon Footprint
= 3,767.6 kg CO2e (kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent). While Triple Yellow’s Carbon Footprint is 79% lower than the average business it is still the equivalent of 11 round trips from London to Barcelona.
Our Pledge
Our pledge is to become Net Zero by 2050. With the help of the Climate Essentials platform we have identified our first steps to take. As a result we can see the opportunity to reduce our current Carbon Footprint by nearly 37% in 2025.
To do this we have identified some simple actions to reduce our carbon footprint. These actions range from installing LED lights in the office, to swapping out our current energy supplier for 100% renewable energy.
We have also identified and challenged some upcoming product and service orders. For example, we were planning to purchase a new desk. Now we will purchase second-hand one. And a local second-hand desk will reduce the originally planned transport costs from China. Additionally, an exhibition pop up display banner will be replaced with a locally produced, PVC-free version for a similar price.
